Ray Carbone

Wood and stone from the forests and quarries of Maine are the raw materials for my work. Skills learned during thirty years of wood and stone working converge in my sculpture. The tidal zone and its rhythm is my dooryard. My work continues to evolve and be influenced by my sense of place and the rich natural environment surrounding me. My intention is to create beautiful and affordable pieces for home and garden.

The gallery and workshop are located on Pigeon Hill Cove in Steuben, Maine. Around the garden there isĀ  an ever changing variety of stone sculpture and indoors you will find art furniture, direct carved burl vessels and interpretive wildlife carvings as well as bronze sculpture.

I am a member of the Society of Animal Artists, Artists for Conservation and Maine Stone Workers Guild and have been showing my work regionally since 1985.
